Our Curriculum

We train for the reality of the street, not the rules of the ring. Our curriculum is designed to take you from fundamentals to advanced combat proficiency.

Level 1: Fundamentals

Striking Mechanics
  • Stance, Balance, and Footwork
  • The Jab, Cross, Hook, and Uppercut
  • Basic Head Movement (Slips and Rolls)
  • Defensive Guard and Parrying
Dirty Boxing Basics
  • Clinch Entry and Control
  • Short-Range Elbows
  • Frame Control and Framing Off
  • Escaping Grabs and Holds

Level 2: Application

Advanced Striking
  • Dutch-Style Kickboxing Combinations
  • Counter-Striking and Angles
  • Low Kicks and Checking
  • Distance Management
Close Quarters (CQC)
  • Hand Trapping and Manipulation
  • Head Control and Knees
  • Wall/Fence Defense and Reversals
  • Takedown Defense (Sprawling)

Level 3: Survival

Elite Defense
  • Multiple Attacker Strategies
  • Weapon Awareness and Avoidance
  • Ground Survival (Getting back up)
  • High-Stress Scenario Sparring

Testing & Grading

Progression at True Grit is earned, not given. Advancing through the curriculum requires demonstrating proficiency under pressure, physical conditioning, and mental resilience during our quarterly grading seminars.
